Pequot Library

Bringing Literature, Music, Art, Science &
the Humanities to our Community

Green Initiative

Pequot Library is dedicated to preserving the environment and has collaborated with the Fairfield Organic Teaching Farm, Aspetuck Land Trust, Connecticut Audubon Society, the Fairfield Green Food Guide, Wildlife in Crisis, Fairfield's Earth Day Celebration and others to encourage community interest in 'going green'.

At the Library, we have 8 recycling bins for everyday use and we have a special bin for corrugated boxes. We also recycle books in different ways: through the Book Sales which give new homes to used books and by selling books that we cannot use to a company that finds homes for the books or recycles the paper.

The Library also has a garden for Blossom, our resident rabbit, so she can have fresh greens during the summer months.
