DOCENT PROGRAM
Pequot Library is home to more than 30,000 rare books and materials in our Special Collections. Through tailored, educational, inter-disciplinary field trips, we bring treasures of the past to the students of our community. Interested in bringing literature, art, and the humanities to life for local students? Become a Pequot Library Docent!

Docents are volunteers who are trained to lead students in grades K-12 through tours of Pequot Library's history and architecture and/or materials on display from our Special Collections. Docents engage students through lively, interactive discussion, and a hands-on approach to learning while conveying the warmth that Pequot Library is known for.

Pequot Library's Docent Program offers the opportunity to experience first-hand the items from our Special Collections while engaging young minds with treasures they won't find anyplace else.
