Summer Book Sale
63rd Annual Summer Book Sale | July 26-30, 2024
One of the largest book sales in New England, our Summer Book Sale draws book lovers from near and far with a selection of over 100,000 items in over 50 categories. The five-day sale is held in large tents on the Great Lawn and parking lot and in the Auditorium and Reading Room of the Library.
Admission is free. All Sale proceeds support Pequot Library.
Book Sale Hours
Friday, July 26: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Saturday-Monday, July 27-29: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday, July 30: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Book Sale Specials
Advance sales of rare and unique items begins online on Saturday, July 20 until midnight on Thursday, July 25. Books bought online will be available for pickup at the front desk during normal library hours within two business days after your purchase.

Parking
Limited street parking is available around Pequot Library.
Additionally, Trinity Episcopal Church hosts its “Park for Food” drive during the first days of the Summer Book Sale. Park in their lot on the corner of Pequot Avenue and Center Street in exchange for canned food or cash.

Friday, July 26: 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (no parking after 2:00 p.m. due to a church event)
Saturday, July 27: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Book Sales
There is no admission charge for the sales, and all proceeds support our lending library services, our robust roster of programs and events, our Special Collections exhibitions, and our School Outreach tours. You may donate books and media year-round in the shed off the library parking lot.
Black Friday/Saturday Book Sale
Black Friday and Saturday Book Sale: Beat the crowds the days after Thanksgiving and browse new items and gently used materials that we’ve selected with gift-giving in mind.
Midwinter Book Sale
Come in from the cold and browse for books in a cozy, intimate environment. Our Midwinter Book Sale (February) features fiction/classics, mystery, biography, history, cookbooks, LPs, children’s books, CDs/DVDs, signed books, and yearly specials.
