Featuring a repertoire of Leonard Bernstein favorites performed by Amy Burton and John Musto, with stories from Jamie Bernstein in Pequot Library’s grand Auditorium.
The Concert & Dinner:
7:30-9:30 p.m.
Join us for a casual chic dinner under the stars on Pequot Library’s Great Lawn. The meal will be catered by Karen Hubrich of Gruel Brittania.

About Jamie Bernstein
Jamie Bernstein is a writer, narrator, broadcaster and filmmaker who has transformed a lifetime of loving music into a career of sharing her knowledge and excitement with others. Inspired by her father Leonard Bernstein’s lifelong impulse to share and teach, Jamie has appeared everywhere from Beijing to London to Vancouver, from conferences in Japan to seminars at Harvard University.
Jamie has produced and hosted radio programs in the United States and Great Britain and presented the New York Philharmonic’s live national radio broadcasts as well as live broadcasts from Tanglewood. Jamie is the co-director of a film documentary, Crescendo: the Power of Music. Her memoir, Famous Father Girl, published by HarperCollins in 2018, is deeply intimate, broadly evocative and often hilarious.
Join us at Pequot Library on June 24 as Jamie invites us into her family’s private life around the world and here in Connecticut.
About Amy Burton & John Musto
Two gifted and acclaimed artists, soprano Amy Burton and composer/pianist John Musto will present highlights from Leonard Bernstein’s decades of beloved music. With a voice The New York Times has called, “luminous” and “lustrous,” versatile soprano Amy Burton has sung with the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, at the White House, and with major opera companies and orchestras worldwide. She is on the Vocal Arts faculty at the Juilliard School, the Mannes College of Music (The New School) and the CUNY Graduate Center DMA program,
John Musto is a classical composer and pianist whose work encompasses virtually every genre: orchestral, operatic, chamber, music for film and television, and concert music inspired by jazz, ragtime and the blues. He was a Pulitzer Prize finalist, and is the recipient of two Emmy awards and a Distinguished Alumnus award from Manhattan School of Music.
