Patricia Akhimie, Director, Folger Institute, Folger Shakespeare Library, writes “Brown’s much needed study powerfully and persuasively demonstrates how the policing of whiteness within Shakespeare’s plays recruits and reproduces anti-Blackness at the heart of early modern English culture.”
