Description: Thelonious “Monk” Ellison has grown frustrated by the politics of the publishing world. While his book is successful within the insular world of academia, it fails to achieve the popular success he desires. In an attempt at satire, Ellison publishes an outlandish, stereotypically “black” book, and to his surprise, it garners significant acclaim.
