Written by William Morris, artist, textile designer, poet, and social activist, in 1890, News from Nowhere (or an Epoch of Rest Being Some Chapters from a Utopian Romance), is the story of William Guest, a 19th-century man who awakens one morning to find himself in the year 2102, and the future proves to be a pastoral paradise, free from the capitalism and industrialization that Morris and his cohorts eschewed.
