Southport Walking Tours
Pequot Library offers docent-led walking tours of historic Southport during the spring, summer, and fall. Step back in time to a bygone era. Learn about the harbor, onion fields, taverns, and the many families who once lived here. Experience Southport then and now. The cost is $10/attendee. For more information about Pequot Library's private Southport Walking Tours or Building & History Tours, please fill out this form. Private tours cost $25/person and can be arranged at a mutually agreeable time for our docents and your group. Southport Walking Tours are limited to eight guests per group, and Building & History Tours are limited to six guests per group.
Guided Tours
Guided tours are held Monday-Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. You may select either a one-hour docent-led tour of our Special Collections exhibition or a 40-minute docent-led Building/History Tour of Pequot Library. In order to ensure a meaningful experience, we must limit each tour to 30 people per visit at Pequot Library. We can run two guided tours simultaneously so each tour group has a maximum number of 15 people.
Appointments may be made up to two weeks in advance of the requested tour date. Please submit a separate request form for each visit. Pequot Library will confirm your visit date via email.

Guided Tours with a Docent: Groups of 10 or more can request a one-hour docent-guided tour of the current exhibition and Library. Guided tours with a docent are free. Please Note: Docent-guided tours should be booked at least two weeks in advance.
Guided Tours with a Member of the Staff: Groups of 10 or more can request a one-hour professional staff tour of the Library and current exhibition. Guided tours by members of the professional staff are $50* (1 staff member for every 20 visitors). Please Note: Staff-guided tours should be scheduled at least two weeks in advance.
